Chapter 01: A Flash of Strange Memories (1)
It was
early morning when Kyle woke up with incredible headaches and severe dizziness.
The pain
and disorientation were so severe that at first Kyle didn't understand what was
happening to him. His thoughts were totally confused and his memories seemed
momentarily distorted and foggy. He could not remember what had happened
yesterday.
The only
thing he could remember at the moment were some strange scenes that seemed to
emerge within his consciousness.
He saw what
appeared to be a wooded forest under the night. Totally dark, and a rainy sky
with no stars in sight.
The place
was being flooded by the storm, and the ground was full of small puddles of
muddy, slippery water.
What the
heck is that? Kyle wondered, frowning painfully as he gritted his teeth to hold
in the intense pain he felt.
Somehow, in
those scenes he couldn't move, he just lay there on the dirty, muddy ground.
His body was not felt, and the warmth was slowly fading and being carried away
by the cold rain falling on top of him.
The scenes
were confusing and hazy, as if they were submerged and hidden under a difficult
layer of mist.
Some scenes
were clear and concise, Kyle could see them clearly, but other scenes were
totally unintelligible under the haze.
And as he
tried to figure out what those strange scenes were, caught a glimpse of
something that surprised him.
It was a
carriage.
An
expensive and luxurious carriage that you could easily tell was not just any
carriage. It must have belonged to someone with a lot of money and reputation,
as the carriage appeared to be finely painted in dark brown paint and had shiny
gold trim, perhaps made of gold, that wrapped around the chariot wheels and the
window frame.
But the
strange thing about the scene was not the luxurious and expensive appearance of
the carriage, but that this luxurious carriage was overturned on the side, near
several trees, while it was engulfed and devoured by a gigantic tide of fire.
That's
right, the carriage was totally on fire.
The glow of
the intense fire that burned furiously illuminated the fire's immediate
surroundings, making the stems and trunks of the nearest trees visible. Even
the pouring rain did not seem to dampen the intense fire that covered the
carriage.
...Seriously,
what the hell is this?
After a few
minutes, Kyle's intense headache began to subside, causing him to let out a
sigh of relief. But at the same time, those strange scenes inside his head also
seemed to fade.
Are those
scenes from some dream I had? Kyle hesitated, frowning and rubbing his forehead
with cold sweat.
"Damn
it..." he groaned.
Finally,
the pain subsided enough for him to think more clearly, but at the same time he
began to feel a peculiar cold sensation encircling the sensitive skin of his
neck. Kyle shivered slightly, feeling slightly afraid. He cautiously brought
his hand to his neck to check.
Inspecting
his neck with his cold fingers, there was nothing. His neck was in perfect
condition.
"What
the hell is wrong with me today? Am I still daydreaming?"

“¿Qué diablos me ocurre hoy? ¿Acaso sigo soñando despierto?”
